The Savannah Quill is hosting its inaugural book convention on Sat. Oct. 8th, 2016, at the Savannah Hilton Garden Inn from 10a – 6p.

The Savannah Quill Convention offers a family friendly event promoting local authors, writers and artists. The convention brings writers and readers together to help promote childhood literacy.

“We will have local authors promoting their books,” said Adam Messer, The Savannah Quill founder, “and Artist Alley, as well lots of fun events for the entire family.”

Special guests include storyteller J’miah Nabawi, Coastal Empire Squad of the 501st Star Wars group, Princess Productions, Comedian Phil Keeling, Authors Joshua Vasquez, Winfield Strock III, Bobby Nash, Arylias Nova and Randyl Bishop. Other guests will be announced as they are booked.

Activities include fun family events such as J’miah Nabawi enthralling children of all ages with his tales. Coastal Empire Squad of the 501st Star Wars group will be taking pictures and reading to the children. The conventions is also hosting a very special Prince & Princess Sweet Tea Party where the children can dress up as their favorite characters and enjoy sweet tea and cookies with the Princess Production. There might even be a superhero or two on hand to help!

The Savannah Quill is actively seeking sponsors, vendors and volunteers. Sponsorships include promotion on our website, social media outlets and newsletter. Vendor tables are available for $50 per table. Volunteer opportunities include our The Savannah Quill Book Club, our convention team and our literacy promotion team.

We are hosting our first fundraiser on June 8, 2016 at Advance Auto in Pooler, GA from 9a – 12p.

Every child deserves to read, Messer said. “As a kid, I loved going to the library and reading. Today, my wife and I take our kids to the library.

“Writers are readers, and readers are leaders.”
